If you press the starter switch and nothing happens at all, first check the power cord that connects to the starter to make sure the starter is receiving sufficient power. When the starter rope is pulled and released, the rewind spring recoils the starter rope onto a pulley. Then turn on the saw, hold it firmly and pull the start rope in short, brisk pulls until it starts. On carbs where the bulb is part of the carb it is replacable on remote ones they are not so new purge time.
